Yang Nianqun, male and born in 20 January 1964 in Beijing, graduated from the Department of History of Renmin University in 1985 with BA degree in history and in 1988 with MA degree in history. In 1991, he graduated from the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China with PhD degree in history, and is now deputy director of the Institute of Qing History, professor, and tutors PhD program.
1995-1996, he received fellowship granted by US-China Academic Exchange Committee and went to US John Hopkins University and Yale University as visiting scholar. In 1998, he went to the Center of Chinese Studies at the University of California at Los Angeles as visiting scholar. In 1997, he stayed with Hong Kong Tao Fong Shan Institute of Sino-Christian Studies as guest researcher. His other social posts include: member of the National Editorial Committee of The History of The Qing Dynasty, part-time researcher of Buddhism and Religious Theories Research Center of Renmin University, a key national social sciences research base, and academic staff member Christian Culture Institute at Renmin University of China.
